Our growing practices strive to create the best conditions for soil health and fertility. As of 2017 we are Certified Naturally Grown, which is a farmer network certification process with the same standards and guidelines as Certified Organic.
To improve soil fertility, we utilize compost and cover cropping. More organic matter means healthier, happier plants. We practice minimal tillage in order to keep strong soil structure. By incorporating lots of straw mulch and clover in our vegetable fields, we are able to combat weeds. We believe that symbiotic relationships between plants can help increase nutrient availability, deter pests, and aid in weed suppression. We promise to never use chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides.
